Cisco SPA509G IP Phone

Introducing the Cisco SPA509G 12-Line IP Phone. A full featured business VoIP phone allows the SPA509G to be connected to a hosted IP telephone service or a IP PBX. The SPA509G uses industry-leading SPA voice over IP (VoIP) technology from Cisco. Specifically developed to support leading SIP-compliant systems. Advanced features such as automatic provisioning are available when used in combination with Cisco Small Business Voice System's SPA9000 and the Cisco Unified Communications's UC500. Advanced configuration is available via it's web interface. An onboard 2-port Ethernet switch and Power Over Ethernet (PoE) are included.

With the Cisco SPA509G 12-lines are awarded and provides two calls per line, totalling 24 call appearances, the most call appearances available in the series. The Cisco SPA509G is a dream to use. It also supports a built-in 2.5mm stereo headset jack. The speaker phone quality is amazing, it feels more like a small steroe than a phone.

Windows and desktop application integration

Call Ctrl brings the functionality of your SPA509G to your desktop. This is the only solution currently available and developed specifically for SPA509G. Call Ctrl was developed to fill the gap between the phone and your computer. Binding the phone and desktop together multiplies the SPA509G capabilities which exponentially increases both productivity and features.

Dialing calls from most Windows applications such as Outlook or Internet Explorer is made possible through Call Ctrl. After Call Ctrl is installed a simple wizard-style setup is used to connect Call Ctrl to the SPA509G. Phone functions such as making calls, hang up, hold, mute, transfer, conference are all available from within Windows. A pop-up or screen-pop is made for new incoming calls where a user can perform a number of functions to properly handle the incoming call. Call Ctrl reports on all phone number activity. Making these features available in Windows empower users with increased productivity.

Comprehensive Interoperability and SIP-Based Feature Set

Part of the Cisco Small Business Pro Series, the SIP-based Cisco SPA509G 12-line IP Phone with Programmable Keys (Figure 1) has been tested to ensure comprehensive interoperability with equipment from voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure leaders, enabling service providers to quickly roll out competitive, feature-rich services to their customers.

With hundreds of features and configurable service parameters, the Cisco SPA509G addresses the requirements of traditional business users while building on the advantages of IP telephony. Features such as easy station moves and shared line appearances (across local and geographically dispersed locations) are just some of the many advantages of the SPA509G.

The Cisco SPA509G 12-line IP Phone with Programmable Keys also supports productivity-enhancing features such as VoiceView Express and Cisco XML applications when used with the Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series in SPCP mode.

Carrier-Grade Security, Provisioning, and Management

The Cisco SPA509G uses standard encryption protocols to perform highly secure remote provisioning and unobtrusive in-service software upgrades. Remote provisioning tools include detailed performance measurement and troubleshooting features, enabling network providers to deliver high-quality support to their subscribers. Remote provisioning also saves service providers the time and expense of managing, preloading, and reconfiguring customer premises equipment.
