Defining Application and User Settings


Application Settings

All settings are global settings per Call Ctrl installation and across all users on the local computer. This allows users to share settings when settings must be uniform.

CallCtrlSubscribeInterval SIP Subscribe interval which Call Ctrl SUBSCRIBE's to SPA 9000. Default value 3600 seconds. Value should not be changed unless enviornment requires specific value. Value can only be changed in CallCtrl.config
CallCtrlRegisterInterval SIP Register interval which Call Ctrl REGISTER's to SPA 9000. Default value 60 seconds. Value should not be changed unless enviornment requires specific value. Value can only be changed in CallCtrl.config. Setting can be verified by viewing the PBX Status page on the SPA 9000 which can be accessed from Call Ctrl under the main menu Tools/Manage/Spa Phone Registration Status.
CallCtrlDirectory Path where Call Ctrl Directory XML data file is stored. Default value is C:\Program Files\CTRL IT\Call Ctrl and is originally set by the Call Ctrl Setup program.
CallCtrlInstallDirectory Path where Call Ctrl was installed. Default value is C:\Program Files\CTRL IT\Call Ctrl and is originally set by the Call Ctrl Setup program.

User Settings

All settings are available per user. This allows differant user profiles on the same Windows computer to have unique setting to that user. Settings are created when Call Ctrl is started for the first time after completing the Settings Wizard.

UserDialPlanAreaCode Area code value for location. Used to create dial plan and control how calls are handled.
UserDialPlanDialPrefix Steering diget, typically used to access specific line or reach an outside number. Call Ctrl does not use this number.
UserDialPlanDialSuffix Value appended to the end of a phone number for use by other phone systems. Call Ctrl does not use this number.
UserDialPlanEnabled True or False value which enables the Dial Plan. Typically the Dial Plan in hanlded by the phone and the pbx. Call Ctrl has ability to use its built-in dial plan.
UserDialPlanExtensionRangeMax Extension Range Maximum identifies the end of the local extension range for the PBX to which Call Ctrl subscribes to. Call Ctrl's Dial Plan utilizes these number to determine if a call is local or an outside number.
UserDialPlanExtensionRangeMin Extension Range Minimum identifies the beginning of the local extension range for the local PBX to which Call Ctrl subscribes to. Call Ctrl's Dial Plan utilizes these number to determine if a call is local or an outside number.
UserDialPlanInclude1BeforeAreaCode Determines whether the one is included before the area code. This is required by most carriers when making a long distance phone call.
UserDialPlanIncludeAreaCode Determines whether the area code is included when dialing a local phone call which is not long distance. Many VoIP carriers require an area code on all outbound calls. Local telephone carriers typically do not require an area code for local calls.
UserDialPlanLocal Country code value to identify location. Currently US is the only available local. Used to determine appropriate Dial Plan to use.
UserSettingsWizardOnAppStart Default value is False for all users who have not launched Call Ctrl. Set to true after sucessfully running the Settings Wizard and making initial configuration per user. Setting to False will launch Settings Wizard on Call Ctrl startup.
UserCallCtrlPort TCP/IP port used for SIP communications on the local computer where Call Ctrl is installed between SPA 9000 (SIP Proxy) and SPA Phone. Value can be set in the Settings Wizard or in Call Ctrl/Settings/SIP Settings tab. Default value is 5060 and 5061. Two port numbers are used and the second number is not explicitly set but is alway the Port Number plus one.
UserFullName Used to identify the Call Ctrl user. This value is added to the User-Agent SIP header field. Currently this is used in two places within Call Ctrl. First, is the SIP debug messages when logging is enabled on Call Ctrl or a device Call Ctrl is connected (SPA phone or SPA9000). Second, value is displayed on the SPA9000 PBX Status page which also shows all hosts currently registered to the device. Future versions will use this field in directory operations for Chat and other messaging types.
UserIpAddress Value is automatically retrieved from Windows Networking during the Settings Wizard. This value can be changed, but requires that Call Ctrl is restarted. Used when Call Ctrl creates a SUBSCRIBE/REGISTER SIP message and identifies the SIP message's sender so that a response can be sent to the correct address.
UserPhoneSpaStatus A Call Ctrl generated SPA-STATUS XML document that reflects the SPA phone's status. The SPA-STATUS is automatically retrieved from the SPA9000, but when Call Ctrl is used outside the SPA9000 enviornment the SPA-STATUS needs to be automatically generated from the spacfg.xml located on the phone. This value allows the SPA-STATUS to be persisted when the SPA-STATUS is not available via the SIP SUBSCRIBE/NOTIFY methods.
UserSpa9000Address The IP Address or Hostname of the SPA 9000 which Call Ctrl the the phone Call Ctrl manages Subscribes to. Value can be set in the Settings Wizard or in Call Ctrl/Settings/SIP Settings tab.
UserSpa9000Port The TCP/IP port the SPA 9000 uses to answer SIP Proxy calls. Default value is 6060. Value can be set in the Settings Wizard or in Call Ctrl/Settings/SIP Settings tab.
UserSpa9000VoiceMailLine When the SPA9000 is configured to work with the SPA400 a specific line instance on the SPA9000 is required. This value can be a Line 1 - 4. This value is required when forwarding a call to voice mail. The Line instance on the SPA9000 that is used in combination with the voice mail extension.
UserSpaPhoneAddress The IP Address or Hostname of the SPA Phone which Call Ctrl manages. Value can be set in the Settings Wizard or in Call Ctrl/Settings/SIP Settings tab.
UserSpaPhoneName Phone name set on the SPA Phone. This value is configured on the phone during the phones setup. This value is required for communications beteen Call Ctrl and the SPA Phone. Value can be set in the Settings Wizard or in Call Ctrl/Settings/SIP Settings tab.
UserView Data Type: Accepted values are "Horizonal" and "Vertical". This value is configured on the Call Ctrl main menu under View. Allows values to be retained between application restarts.
UserViewExtWidth Sets the width for the Extension and Call elements within the Call Ctrl UI. Default value is 100, but can be adjusted to any positive number. When configured with the SPA-922 the value is multiplie by 4. For example, with the default value of 100, the actual with of the SPA-922 Ext is 400. The reason this was required was to compensate for the single Ext which had significant dead space whereas other models have many extension filled this space.
UserViewContentChat Chat pane in Call Ctrl. Sets whether the pane is displayed within the user interface. Value is for future use.
UserViewContentPhoneDetails Phone Details pane in Call Ctrl. Sets whether the pane is displayed within the user interface.
UserViewContentVolumeSettings Volume Settings pane in Call Ctrl. Sets whether the pane is displayed within the user interface.
UserDebugEnabled Sets debugging for Call Ctrl and SIP message traces. Enabled by default whicsh should be disabled after initial configuration. Enabling should only be used when troublshoot or when call data collection is required.
UserDebugFile Debug file name which defaults to CallCtrlDebug.txt. Allows differant file names per user to allow call data to be collected seperately per user.
UserReportingFile Provides the ability to specify a Reporting file per user. Reporting file includes all call data (Call Out, Call In, Speed Dial).
CallCtrlDirectory Path where Call Ctrl XML Directory file is located. This allows multiple users to all point to the same file for shared contacts outside the SPA 9000 Corporate Direcotry.
UserDirectoryFile Provides the ability to specify a Directory file per user. Allows users to have differant Directory files which can then be shared by multiple users. The path is an application setting shared by all users on the local computer, but by allowing the change of the file name allows differant files to be accessed per user by simply changing the file name of the file the user requires access.
