We plan on adding additional values, but need the help of our user base to extend this list. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Clip Board Monitor feature allows a phone call to be initiated from essentially any Windows based application where a text-based phone number can be copied and automatically dialed through Call Ctrl. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Clip Board Monitor scans the Windows Clip Board for phone numbers when a text value is copied using the Windows Copy and Paste feature. When a text value is copied in the Clip Board a user-defined Regular Expression is used to check and see if it is a phone number. If so, the text is then passed to Call Ctrl and a new phone call is initiated. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only draw back to enabling this feature is that if there is a need to copy and paste a phone number for other uses, a call will be initiated. There are other programming methods to accomplish this feature, but reliability becomes an issue with most of the other methods. The Clip Board Monitor is by far the most reliable way of integrating Call Ctrl into essentially any Windows application. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Resources &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;The following is a list of countries we are currently developing support for. Users have the same functionality when performing actions, but the phone will not receive the status of these actions when they are made. For example, users may make a call, but the Extension and Call instances will not reflect a call is being made in the Call Ctrl interface. This will simply require the users to use the phone display for status as opposed to Call Ctrl for determining what actions to perform and when. These limitations should not have a significant impact on the productivity Call Ctrl allows users, but simply a different approach to its utilization. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;New Call Notification, Transfer and Conference are not available within Call Ctrl when the phones are not connected to the SPA9000. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Cause&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Call Ctrl uses an API which is made available using the SPA9000 and the SPA IP Phone. The API is not fully implemented on the SPA IP Phone and requires the help of the SPA9000. Debugging should be the first thing to turn on and check when experiencing problems which are not evident after double checking general settings.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Background&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There are many issues that can arrise when experiencing issues with Call Ctrl and the phone system. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Resolution&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To turn on/off Debugging:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Launch the Settings window by either selected Edit/Settings from the main menu or right-clicking the Call Ctrl tray icon and selecting Settings. &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Ensure the first tab, &lt;strong&gt;SIP Settings&lt;/strong&gt; is selected. Check or Uncheck the &lt;strong&gt;Debugging Enabled&lt;/strong&gt; checkbox. &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Call Ctrl requires a restart to either disable or enable debugging. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NOTE:&lt;/strong&gt;It is recommended that after your initial configuration of Call Ctrl that Debugging be disabled. Please enable Debugging and restart Call Ctrl to diagnose the problem.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;When the SPA phone is configured in an unsupported manner or mis-configured the following symtoms may be present:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;    &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color: #ffc000;"&gt;Orange&lt;/span&gt; Ext light on phone&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;blockquote style="margin-right: 0px;" dir="ltr"&gt;&lt;blockquote style="margin-right: 0px;" dir="ltr"&gt;&lt;p&gt;They should all be Green. If they are Orange there was a problem with the Ext. Note Ext 2 Status is Not Registered. This is not a problem since this extension is in essense Ext 1 duplicate. The phone will continue to function but Ext 3, 4 and 5 will not.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Background&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When a phone is configured with a single Ext the SPA9000 will automatically configure the phone to use this password during the phone registration with the SPA9000. If the phone has multiple Ext only the primary Ext will be configured automatically. For example, if your phone uses Ext 200 on lines 1 / 2 and also uses Ext 300 on lines 3 / 4. Lines 3 / 4 will have to be manually configured to use the Phone Ext Password. To configure the Ext the SPA9000/SIP/PBX Phone Parameters/Phone Ext Password must be set on the phone’s Ext n(n=number of lines)/Subscriber Information/Password. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;During the Settings Wizard, Call Ctrl retrieves the SIP/PBX Phone Parameters/Phone Ext Password from the SPA9000 configuration. This password is then used when Call Ctrl performs a SIP REGISTER to the SPA9000. This setting can be changed using the SPA9000 web admin pages. Whenever the Phone Ext Password is changed the phones and Call Ctrl also need to be updated. In Call Ctrl it is best to rerun the Settings Wizard to ensure all passwords are properly configured. This password can also be changed in the Settings/SIP Settings/Password. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Resolution&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The following lists the possible resolutions to the&lt;span style="color: #1f497d;"&gt; 403 Forbidden &lt;/span&gt;error message.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;    &lt;li&gt;    &lt;p&gt;If Ext lights are Orange, properly set the Phone Ext Password on the phone and reboot the SPA9000/Phone. After doing this and the light is still Orange there may be other problems that require further attention and outside the scope of this issue and Call Ctrl.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Delete the user.config file that holds all Call Ctrl settings and passwords. This must be performed in this order to be successful.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Instructions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Start the &lt;strong&gt;Settings Wizard&lt;/strong&gt; by selecting &lt;strong&gt;Edit/Settings Wizard&lt;/strong&gt; from the main menu.&lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Complete the &lt;strong&gt;Settings Wizard&lt;/strong&gt; and use the new phone's address on the &lt;strong&gt;Spa Phone Settings&lt;/strong&gt; page.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NOTE:&lt;/strong&gt; It is important to NOT shutdown or restart Call Ctrl during this process when asked after completing the &lt;strong&gt;Settings Wizard&lt;/strong&gt;. You will restart Call Ctrl AFTER you have done the next step, installing the license for the new phone.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;    &lt;p&gt;Remove the installed license and install a new license key or load a license that was registered to the new phone. From the main menu select &lt;strong&gt;Edit/Licensing&lt;/strong&gt;. The license will be authenticated and installed. By default these are recycled every hour so there is the possibilty of having multiple phone reporting back to a single Call Ctrl installation. By a simple restart of the phone will resolve this issue.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If the following message is returned when installing the new licnese, the saved license being installed doesn't match to the serial number of the phone which Call Ctrl is currently configured. This is why it is imperative to first configure Call Ctrl to connect to the new phone and then install the proper license. Simple examples may include using a steering digit such as 9 to access an outside line or a 1 for dialing long distance. The dial plan was developed specifically for US phone numbers, but certain configuration may be used to fit your needs and will require specific testing for your enviornment. The option to remove the dial plan is the alternative when the dial plan cannot be tailored to meet your specific needs. More countries will become available over time. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Without Dial Plan&lt;/strong&gt; - For countries outside the US this will be the recommended configuration. The SPA 9000 and SPA Phone can be configured to use its dial plan for your enviornment and specif needs. When no Dial Plan is configured all digits and other characters are sent to the phone as entered. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;There may instances when a Dial Plan is useful, but currently there is no support when making international calls. In other words the Dial Plan does not interpret the additional required digits and will most likely provide and invalid entry. To work around this problem Call Ctrl enables a feature to Enable and Disable the Dial Plan quickly. Within the Call Ctrl main menu select Edit/Enable Dial Plan to turn on or off. A check next to the menu item indicates that Dial Plan in turned on. It is possible to have virtually unlimited number of entries. Creating Speed Dial entries in excess of 10 requires editing the CallCtrlReporting.xml text file. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Instruction&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This file may be edited using any text editor such as Notepad.exe which ships with each version of Windows. For more advanced users Microsoft Excel offers more powerful capabilities. For example, Call Ctrl users may export their Outlook Contacts into Excel which can then save as XML for compatibility with Call Ctrl. These instructions are out of the scope of this article but provide an example of the types of options users have for integrating their contact information with Call Ctrl open data standard. During Quality Assurance testing Call Ctrl was tested with 500 Speed Dial entries and no noticeable performance was lost. Analysis showed adding 500 additional records increased memory utilization by approximately 10%.
